Holden Web focuses on helping you to meet your information needs in a variety of ways.
- Consulting
Whether you are looking to define a project architecture, determine an appropriate development methodology or implement a specific design we can help you. Our needs-based approach to consulting projects ensures that you meet your overall goal.
- Teaching
We teach classes in networking technologies, network security and database design for Learning Tree International, and other classes independently. Please ask us to quote for your training needs.
- Speaking
We can speak on a range of topics, with presentation styles suitable for either technical or managerial audiences. This can be a cost-effective way to investigate the feasibility of a new technology for your organization.
- Advocacy
The open source world has a lot to offer commercial and governmental organizations bold enough to move away from the classical software purchase cycle, and we invest time in helping such organizations to investigate their options.
Many projects involve new and interesting technologies. Holden Web works with the latest technolgies, many of the emerging techniques involving open source software.
Operating system and application software choice is never a religious issue here: we evaluate the range of available products and use what is most appropriate for each project and most convenient to our customers. We work with all operating system platforms and a wide range of tools.
Python is our open source agile programming language of choice. International contacts extend our skills base in multiple technologies including security, graphic and information design and application and network systems architectures. For web development we like work as a part of a team that uses graphic design skills of your existing design team to our proven technical abilities.
Early in 2002 New Riders published Steve Holden's first book, Python Web Programming (see below). In March 2003 Steve chaired the inaugural PyCon DC 2003 Python Community Conference, at which he was delighted to meet many readers of this web site. He also chaired PyCon DC 2004 and 2005. Sometimes you will still find him on comp.lang.python, the most useful newsgroup for the general Python user.

| The Recent Python News feature in this page's right-hand navigation bar is populated by a Python program that periodically scans posts on del.icio.us, creating links for the most relevant articles. The Python book links (which you really can use to go to Amazon and buy books) are chosen by a Python program scanning a database populated periodically from Amazon.com. |
